We have a number of workshops avalible suitable from years 2 to 7. Each workshop is designed to teach the key aspect of the curriculum in a fun, and on way to inspire and promote long term understanding of the subject.
Note that our workshops and planetarium shows are two different activities. Workshops are classroom focused. We hare happy to mix a planetarium visit with a single workshop or different two workshop (but not the planetarium).
Most of our workshops are designed to last half a day and are suitable for arrange of years. Please note that none of our current workshops are suitable for Early Years or Year 1.
Connecting Physics
Connecting Physics is a longitudinal outreach program designed to increase the "Science Capital" of Year 7, 8, and 9 students.
Mission to Mars
Learn about how scientists determine where the next mars rover will land using real data about the Red Planet. This workshop teaches problem-solving, working with data provided as images, graphs and tables as well as teamworking. Suitable for Years 5-6 and KS3
Rockets
Our most popular workshop. Suitable for KS2 and KS3, this workshop guides the students through the forces topic and gives them a chance to build and launch an air rocket. Our air rockets have been known to hit over 100kph!
Space
Our space workshop covers the key aspects of Space for Years 5 and 6. The workshop covers all the key areas of space they need to know, plus they get to hold a real piece of the Moon and Mars!This half day workshop works especially well with a single planetarium session.Find out More

Designed specifically for Year 3 and Year 4, these sessions transform students into mini-palaeontologists for the day, blending scientific inquiry with historical discovery.
